All scar aids are usually pricey and have to be used for a long time to achieve visible results. You have to understand that no scar will go away compeletely, so prepare to deal with it, especially if your scar is as ugly as mine.

DermaDoctor offers ScarGuard ScarCare, which is a great lotion that combines Silicone, Cortisone and Vitamin E. It is pricey, but it’s worth the money especially if your scar is large and irritated.

I personally used Mederma which smells a little strange but is nice and gelly and it really worked for me. I purchased mine in the nearby pharmacy but discovered later that DermaDoctor offers it much cheaper.

Finally, there is another product offered by DermaDoctor called Kelo-cote Scar Gel. I can't tell you anything from my own experience as I have never used it, but the reviews for this product are excellent. It contains silicone, which is apparently great for scar treatment. (and I always thought it only helps with fake boobs ;-)
